Kiko's Family is Divided as Sharon continues to Support Duterte Admin

Senator Francis "Kiko" Pangilinan has acknowledged that his wife, megastar Sharon Cuneta and members of his household also harbor opposing political views in an interview on ANC's "Beyond Politics" on Tuesday, January 29.

Wife of Kika and megastar, Sharon Cuneta, has been vocal on her support for President Duterte despite Duterte's attacks and criticism on her husband Senator Pangilinan, the actress even said she gets "kilig" whenever Digong mentions her.

When asked during the interview on how Kiko's family and relationship are played with Sharon as a supporter and fan of the president? Even mentioning that "I think the president has intensified a little bit his criticism of you."

"We are no different from other families who are divided because of the current administration and the situation of the country," Pangilinan said.

"Unfortunately, in my case, because we are public figures it's more pronounced."

Cuneta has repeatedly expressed her admiration for President Rodrigo Duterte, who opposes Pangilinan's politics.

In a Facebook post on Thursday, Cuneta thanked the President, saying she felt "so kilig" upon knowing that he had mentioned her in his speeches.

Duterte has repeatedly slammed Pangilinan's Juvenile Justice and Welfare Act of 2006, which sets the minimum age of criminal liability to 15; the President wants it lowered.

Cuneta even sang "Happy Birthday" to the President last year.

Cuneta's most recent stunt of admiration is when she thanked President Rodrigo Duterte for supporting and inspiring her brother Cesar “Chet” Cuneta’s mayoral bid in Pasay City.

"President Rodrigo Roa Duterte has publicly announced that he is supporting my brother’s candidacy for Mayor of Pasay!” Cuneta wrote in an Instagram post on Tuesday, Oct. 16.

With a snapshot of a portion of a newspaper article, the Megastar said it’s the President who inspired her brother to run for office.

“Siya rin po ang nagudyok sa kapatid kong tumakbo nung umpisa palang dahil ayaw na po nya ang nakararating sa kanyang korupsyon sa Pasay! Thank you Mr. President!” she added.
