Name a Cockroach after them this Valentine's! πŸ’–

Had a bad breakup? Don’t be bitter. Name a cockroach after them instead.

Thanks to this Zoo in England may have the perfect Valentine’s gift for that ex who won’t stop bugging you.

Hemsley Conservation Centre, located in Southeast London, is really getting on board with this whole Valentine’s Day malarkey by allowing members of the public to name its resident cockroaches after their exes through their ‘name a cockroach program’.

The center posted the offer via their Facebook page.

Now, for those that don’t quite require revenge, there’s another way to make you feel better about getting back at your ex this Valentine’s Day.
The HCC is offering the chance to name a cockroach in honor of your, or your friend’s worthless ex-“someone” on this special holiday of love.
We are highlighting these creatures through our ‘name a cockroach programme’ (we think adopt is a little too strong, after all – you probably don’t want to adopt your ex) to raise money for our projects at the zoo.
So, head on over to this link.

Those interested in the program need only to pay two dollars and provide the first name of their ex. In return, they will receive a certificate in their email that reads, “I’ve named a cockroach at the Hemsley Conservation Centre in not so loving memory of my worthless ex!”

The post has, predictably enough, collected a ton of amusing comments.

"I hope they have a lot of cockroaches because I have a few names in mind," writes one person in the comments section. "Great idea but I might run out of cash soon," quips another."Gold! Read about this in local media here in Sydney. I'd like to sponsor a rat, weasel or a toad next!" a third writes.

All proceeds go to the zoo to raise money for various projects, so it’s all for a worthy cause.

Names chosen by those who pay the fee will be displayed on a board outside the roach enclosure.
