Weirdest Names You'll Ever Hear but Real!

When the 2013 UPCAT results were released last week, local netizens made a fiesta out of the name of one successful examinee Sincerely Yours ’98. She’s nicknamed Truly and has two other siblings: Spaghetti ’88 and Macaroni ’85. The numbers stand for their date of birth.

Spaghetti ’88 has since gotten married and has a son named Cheese Pimiento. And here’s the birth cert (photo & details via my kumare Ivy Lisa Mendoza)

Our friend, Prof. Rolando de la Cruz, CEO of Darwin International School in Bulacan where Sincerely Yours (nicknamed Truly) graduated, explained that the parents are simply jolly good people who didn’t hesitate to break the monotony of the world with the strangeness of their children’s names.

“The names of the kids might sound funny to people. But these names reflect how much they enjoy and respect life. The names are unique, reflect in the uniqueness of the members. The names are down-to-earth, reflecting how much they enjoy daily living,” Prof. Rolly said.

Siblings with No Vowels

Three Filipino students have created a buzz on social media for having strange names that are complicated to read, having no single vowel.

The parents of the kids, Jon-jon and Mercedez Tamayo from San Fabian, Pangasinan, said they decided to give their sons bizarre names as theirs were simple and ordinary.

They gave the names Pzxydynn Yzzyr, Djyknyll Rysym, and Dzywrygh Lynzh to their names.

“Napag-isipan naming dalawa na ano kaya kung gawin natin na iyong pinaka-unique na pangalan. Iyong walang katulad as in unique na unique talaga,” Jon-jon explained in an exclusive report of GMA News TV.

As for the siblings, Pzxydynn Yzzyr, the eldest, said they’re not having difficulty with their names unlike their teachers and friends who struggle to read and pronounce their names.

Justin Mejia, one of their classmates, is among the people who finds their names weird saying, “Siyempre po first time kong makakita ng name na walang vowels so sobrang weird like, paanong babasahin iyon.”

Their names may be one for the books, but what really matters is the character of the person bearing it.
