Pinays win Gold & Silver in Korea Open Taekwondo Championships


Pinay jins brought pride to the Philippines after bagging gold and silver medals in the recently concluded Open International Taekwondo Championships in Chuncheon, Korea.

Cebu’s young athletes Rinna Bobanto, Aidaine Laxa, and Joce Lyn Ninobla won the group Gold in the women’s team category of Authorized Poomsae after besting Korea’s Team A.


Cebuana jin Nica Garces picked up the Silver medal in the Kyorugi (sparring event) fin weight category.

The Cebuana jins join the list of Filipino jins who have won medals at world championships and ASEAN meets.


The winning jins from Cebu competed in the Korea Open in preparation for the 30th Southeast Asian (Sea) Games which will take place in the Philippines from November 30 to December 11, 2019.
