A Texas man killed his 24-year-old estranged Filipina wife and stored her body inside a garage freezer as part of a twisted murder-suicide, according to reports.
Edward Rogers Jr., 66, even reportedly showed off the corpse of his dead wife, Alyssa Marie Mejia Rogers, to a friend who didn’t believe that he actually killed her — and squeezed her buttocks during the macabre display.
The Arlington man later called around to relatives on Monday and confessed to the crime and to storing the slain woman’s body several days earlier, family members said.
“She was in the freezer for eight days,” Rogers’ former mother-in-law from a previous marriage, Jackie Lee, told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
After making the calls, in which he apologized for what he’d done, Rogers then shot himself to death, according to the report.
Responding cops later found the woman’s body in a freezer and Rogers dead in a bedroom, the Dallas Morning News reports.
A message seeking comment Wednesday from the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office was not immediately returned.

Rogers then took his friend into his garage after the man doubted his story before showing him the body inside and grabbing the buttocks before smirking and saying that her body was “cold,” the affidavit states.

The alleged killer had a violent rap sheet and was set to be sentenced in August for choking his wife, the Dallas Morning News reports.

He was initially charged with murder, but a judge declared a mistrial after a jury couldn’t agree on a verdict. Rogers ultimately received eight years of deferred probation, and the case was later dismissed after he completed his probation conditions, the Morning News reports.
