Death is relative: Duterte Won’t Give Up Riding Motorcycles

Despite a recent motorcycle accident, President Rodrigo Duterte is not planning to give up riding just yet.

“Alam mo the rules sa motor is pag sumemplang ka kailangan sumakay ka uli. Kasi pag hindi, abutan ka ng kabag then you are done, takot ka na,” Duterte said in an interview with ABS-CBN News Tuesday.

The Chief Executive pointed out that death comes with so much uncertainty. “Death is relative. It can come anytime to anybody,” he added.

Asked if the public should worry about his health, Duterte said: “Well, ang motor kagaya, alam mo naman yan ,pag nahampas ang ulo mo, tapos ka talaga, thats why you have to have a helmet. Ang problema nito I was just sa compound lang. Split second ang motor pag na disgrasya. Pag nakamali ka ng konti wala. So kung hanggang diyan lang ang buhay natin, okay lang.”

Doctors earlier diagnosed Duterte to be having muscle spasms caused by a motorcycle fall within Malacañang compound last October 16. He was advised to rest and take pain relievers.
