"May mas Maganda ba Kayong Programa Kaysa sa Programa ni DU30?" Cayetano, Rumesbak kay Leni

Following Vice President Leni Robredo's statement that the implementation of President Rodrigo Duterte "War on Drugs" program has gone wrong and a failure, Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano has responded that Robredo's claims as false.

In an interview with Cayetano in a flag raising ceremony in the House of Representatives, he questioned the criticism of Duterte's critics, including Vice President Leni Robredo's criticism on the President's "War on Drugs."

"It's easy to criticize, but what we need from the Vice President or any of the critics, including our critics from the Western world, ano ang programa niyo na mas maganda sa programa ni President Duterte?" said Cayetano.

"Kung may programa kayong mas maganda, why not?" Cayetano added.

Cayetano said he did not believe that President Duterte's anti-drug program had no effect as critics say, as in a recent SWS survey said that a large percentage of Filipinos felt that they were safer now and were happy as they rated Duterte's war on drugs as 'excellent'.

"I really hope that iba `yung pagkakasabi ng ating Bise-Presidente at iba kung ano ibig niya sabihin," Cayetano said.

It was only recently that VP Robredo said that despite President Duterte's successive threats to the country's major drug and drug lords syndicates, he actually does nothing but trend on the matter.

"Because the way it came out was that para bang dapat walang war on drugs, di ba? Pero `yung sinabi mong failed ang drug war, why does more than 80 percent of our people believe that it's safer now in the Philippines?" Cayetano said.

"I disagree with her. Kung titingnan mo, mas mahal ang droga dahil nga naghuhulihan. Remember, it's a ₱210-billion industry, at least. Sa shabu pa lang `yun. So, `yung magnitude ng hahabulin mo," Cayetano added.

Cayetano also emphasized that the truth is that many are still afraid of illegal drugs.

Ultimately, Cayetano said VP Robredo should be careful in her remarks and criticism, especially considering his position as Vice President of the Philippines.
