One of the things parents prepare for their child's baptism are souvenirs to be given to ninangs and ninongs.
Nowadays, looking for a unique souvenir have become so popular that some have become big business. The typical souvenirs would are usually figurines, magnets, mugs, pillows, and even cupcakes.
But it looks like there's a new trendy souvenir that's circulating on social media. Trending photo of netizen Abby Sombilon was re-uploaded on Facebook where Lumpiang Shanghai was seen as a souvenir in a baptism.
In the picture, a three-pieces of Lumpiang Shanghai were placed neatly and decorated with a ribbon. It also has a sticker labeled "Thank You for Coming," and the name of the child that was baptized.

The post has become viral and garnered a lot of reactions and shares from Sombilon. It currently has 4,300+ likes and 8,500+ shares.
The social media memes about Lumpiang Shanghai have been trending because it is a favorite amongst Filipinos especially in parties and gatherings. There are trending memes on the limit of how many lumpias a person can take in a buffet, while others are photographed pocketing the lumpias. There was also a viral meme of a CCTV wrong in front of a lumpiang shanghai containers in a house party.

Because of how viral and meme-able Lumpiang Shanghai have become, the parents of the child who was baptized came up with the idea of giving it away because of its unique concept for a baptism.
Other netizens said if they were invited as ninangs and ninongs [godparents] to the baptism, they would definitely love the concept of Lumpiang Shanghai as souvenirs !
