Police said Tuesday they were investigating the kidnapping of a Chinese woman in the Makati City financial district.
The woman was dragged screaming by 2 men into a waiting van past 9 p.m. Monday along Paseo de Roxas corner Perea St. in Legazpi Village.
A witness shot a video showing the gray-colored vehicle speeding off with its door still open.

"Akala ko no'ng una, away mag-jowa, 'yon pala iba," he said.
(I thought it was a lovers' spat, but it turned out not to be the case.)

Passersby wanted to help but were worried they could get hurt.
"Nakakatakot din po kasi baka may dala 'yong kumidnap kaya wala nang nakialam," he said.

Chinese loan shark abductions up amid tourist influx from mainland
The victim appeared to know her abductors because she went near the van before she was dragged inside, said Col. Rogelio Simon, head of Makati City police.
Police traced the van's plate to a different vehicle, an L300 van, which had no previous record with authorities, Simon said.
Police recovered several documents, including photocopies of Chinese passports and deeds of sale of vehicles from the scene of abduction.
"Based din sa lahat ng investigations natin at saka interview natin, the victim na pinipilit ipasok sa van is Chinese, babaeng Chinese, ang assessment namin tinatago rin ang kanyang identity kasi naka-face mask din para hindi siya makilala," Simon said.
