Manila Makes it to the List of Most Festive Cities in the World


Manila may not be the cleanest or the wealthiest city in the world, but it sure is one of the most festive when it comes to Christmas. 

We need not emphasize that Christmas is celebrated here for almost five months a year, starting in September and ending January after the Feast of the Three Kings.

Big 7 Travel, a travel website that regularly conducts travel-related surveys, has come up with a list of the 50 most festive cities in the world. Manila landed on the fifth spot as the most festive, owing to the Filipinos’ vibrant Christmas spirit.


On top of the list is Branson in Missouri, followed by Copenhagen in Denmark, Medellin in Colombia, and Quebec City in Canada.


Among the factors that the survey considered were traditional Christmas markets, beautiful lights displays, and the presence of street festivals that showcase the Christmas spirit.
