This award recognizes PHISGOC’s achievement in organizing the best SEA games, their efforts in staging world-class opening ceremonies, and organizing 56 sports and 530 events in total.

SPIA Asia Awards is an award-giving body in Asia that focuses on recognizing and celebrating the achievements of the Asian sports industry for the past years.

It also organizes sports conferences, recognizes, and celebrates Asia’s Top 10 in 25 distinct awards categories including the Asia’s Best Sportsman and Asia’s Best Sports Woman category, with gold, silver, and bronze being awarded to the best performers.

SPIA CEO Eric Gottschalk handed the award to PHISGOC chairman Alan Peter Cayetano and PHISGOC chief operating officer Ramon Suzara during a conference held in Grand Hyatt Hotel.

“We are humbled by this recognition and we will strive to keep the momentum going for the country,” PHISGOC Chairman Alan Peter Cayetano said. (Photos/Alan Peter Cayetano)

Suzara expressed his gratitude to the SPIA and stressed that the recognition will inspire the PHISGOC workforce to work harder and do better in the remaining days of the biennial meet.

After 14 years since the last time the country hosted SEA Games, the Philippines is hosting the 30th edition of this big sports event.

The long wait, the preparation, and hard work were all worth it. The country was given another opportunity to prove itself, not just as a worthy host of the biennial games, but also as a sports powerhouse in the region. After three days, the Pinoy athletes have garnered a total of 95 medals, dominating the competition in almost all sports events.
