Timor Leste finally won its first medal in the Southeast Asian Games courtesy of boxer Jose Barretto Quintas Da Silva on Sunday at the PICC Forum.
Timor Leste’s Quintas Da Sil loses his semifinal match but he will be awarded a bronze medal tomorrow! First medal for Timor Leste in the SEA Games 2019.
Da Silva lost to Thailand's Ammarit Yaodam, 1-4, in the semifinals of the men's flyweight 52kg category. Despite his loss, Da Silva will still be awarded a bronze medal.

On December 3, Timor Leste trended on Philippine Twitter because the country has yet to win a medal in the SEA Games.
