Animals in Taal Volcano island finally rescued by authorities and residents

Animal survivors were finally rescued by authorities and residents two days after the Taal volcano started to spew ashes that almost wiped the life on the whole island.

In the video and photo posted on social media, it showed the remaining horses being used to transport people in Taal had been bought to the mainland via boat to receive veterinary care.

Other dogs, pigs, cows, chickens, and other animals were also retrieved by the rescuers.

Yesterday, a heartbreaking video of a horse trapped in the mud after being left by its owner in the volcano island had gone viral, and it raised the calls of the netizens to rescue the remaining animals in Taal.

The netizen even became more worried after the PDRRMO of Batangas said they will no longer be able to rescue the horses that have served the tourists, as well as the other livestock on the island.

Fortunately, on Tuesday, Taal Volcano’s activity is now calmer than the last few days that’s why the authorities and residents can now go back to the island to rescue their animals.

However, the rescuer said that they need a bigger boat to rescue all the animals on the island.

Meanwhile, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) Asia already sent their team in Batangas to provide food and basic veterinary care to the affected animals.

As of writing, Taal is still in alert level 4.
