Couple Goes Viral for Receiving Php629,000 from Prosperity Dance at Their Wedding

In many cultures, the prosperity dance is part of the wedding tradition. It is a way for guests to wish the couple good fortune by making money ‘rain’ on them on their wedding day.

This is also a practical aspect of the wedding as the couple receives monetary gifts from the guests, allowing them to start their new life as married couple with some extra cash.

How much did you receive in the prosperity dance at your wedding? The amount is really not fixed because the guests can give any amount they want to share.

But netizens were quite envious of a couple from Tagum City in Davao del Norte because they received so much money in the prosperity dance that their clothes were nearly covered with paper bills!

What’s even more impressive is that the money on their clothes are mostly Php1,000 and Php500 bills! According to Ernie Piamonte Balili, this lucky couple received a total of Php629,000 during the prosperity dance! Can anyone top that? Not so easily, that’s for sure!

Netizens were simply so amazed that these newlyweds would receive such a huge amount of money from the prosperity dance. Also, the paper bills were shaped like fans, making the money look like they were accents on the pair’s clothes.

So many people are saying these two are among the luckiest newlyweds in the world for receiving this much money on their wedding day.

But someone, Jan Marianed Casten Faeldonia, shared photos taken from the weddings of the bride’s sisters. Apparently, this type of money-giving for the prosperity dance is a tradition in the family.

Wouldn’t it be nice if we can also get that much money in the wedding? Of course, not all families are rich and not all guests can afford to give that much money to the couple.

Plus, some netizens reminded everyone that the wedding is about the union of two hearts in marriage, not about how much money they would get for the prosperity dance…
