The May Queen has spoken!
English actress Florence Pugh, who starred in the hit films “Midsommar” and “Little Women,” confessed her love for the Pinoy party-favorite dish Lumpia AND grew up eating lumpia!
The English actress talked about her love for the Filipino dish in a series of Instagram stories on Thursday.
“I grew up eating lumpia and would literally count down the days until I’d eat it again," Florence told her followers.
"My best friend was [Filipino] and her mum was a master at cooking. She knew I loved them and would make a batch, freeze them, package them up for me to take home after our sleepover," she added.
Lumpia is a Filipino dish that consists of ground meat wrapped in a thin crepe-like pastry skin. The popular deep-fried version is very easy to make, and celebrities like Cardi B also happen to love it.
Florence, who loves doing cooking tutorials on IG, tagged her Filipino friend and asked if her mom could "share her secrets."
“@wonderfulpsyche..this may be my next cooking challenge! can your mama share her secrets?” she wrote.
Florence also apologized for misspelling Filipino in her first story.
"Apologies, it’s ‘Filipino’ NOT philipino" she wrote.
Florence starred in "Little Women" as Amy, and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. She also headlined the film "Midsommar."
Her upcoming films include Marvel's "Black Widow" starring Scarlet Johannson and "Don't Worry Darling" starring Chris Pine and Harry Styles. —Margaret Claire Layug/JCB, GMA News
