New Pilots Wanted: Cebu Pacific opens applications for cadet pilots

Cebu Pacific opened applications for the seventh batch of cadet pilots who will join its "study now, pay later" program, the Philippines' largest airline said Friday.

Aspiring pilots who wish to study at Flight Training Adelaide in Australia must be Filipino citizens, proficient in English, and college graduates of any degree with an average grade of at least 80 percent in Math, Physics and English.

Cebu Pacific Inc. President and CEO, Lance Gokongwei during the launch of their Cadet Pilot training program at the Marriot Hotel in Pasay City, 24 October 2017.

The application period will run from May 17 to May 26, the airline said.

The airline will shoulder the entire cost of the pilot training and graduates are assured of employment, it said. Successful applicants will pay for the program cost through monthly salary deductions over a maximum of 10 years with zero interest.

Those who will pass the selection process including interviews, computer aptitude tests, medical and psychological exams and the spoken English test will proceed to the on-site screening where they will be required to pay A$425 or P19,000 for a core skill and pilot aptitude test, Cebu Pacific said.\
