President Rodrigo Duterte will disclose to the public the result of the medical consultation regarding his back pain that forced him to cut short his trip to Japan, Malacañang said Wednesday.
Duterte was expected to see a neurologist within the day after he complained on Tuesday of “unbearable pain” in his spinal column near the pelvic area which the Palace attributed to his motorcycle accident last week.

“His consultation with a doctor is aimed at determining the medical condition of his body, as well as finding out whether his previous spinal injury from a past motorcycle accident has been aggravated by his recent fall,” presidential spokesperson Salvador Panelo said.
“The President shall inform our countrymen on the result of his medical consultation.”
On October 16, Duterte fell off his motorcycle inside Malacañang Complex that resulted in a minor injury, particularly light bruises and slight scratches, to his elbow and knee.

However, Duterte decided not to attend the banquet celebrating the enthronement and opted to return to the Philippines on Tuesday night due to back pain.
Panelo maintained that the public “need not be apprehensive about the President's health.”
Duterte's health has been the subject of much speculation, but Malacañang has repeatedly downplayed such concerns. —KBK, GMA News
