Wow! Initially A Joke, Medical Board Passer Is Congratulated By Cousins, Friends With A Billboard Ad

A medical graduate, who just passed the September 2019 Physician Licensure Examination, was congratulated by his cousins and friends in a very special way.

On Twitter, John Christopher L. Gardiola, a Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila graduate, uploaded photos of the surprises: a big tarpaulin with his graduation photo and a LED billboard advertisement.


“Not sure if my cousins and friends are super proud of me or just bullies. HAHAHA pero salamat po! Okay na po ‘yan, pakibaba na po,” he captioned his tweeted photos; a tweet which has gotten more than 3,000 retweets and over 36,000 favorites, as of posting.

Gardiola was initially surprised with a tarpaulin saying, “Congratulations! John Christopher L. Gardiola, M.D. for passing the September 2019 Physician Licensure Examination! We are so proud of you!”


“Salamat sa mga pinsan at kaibigan kong bully! Hahaha! P.S.: Gusto ko billboard sa Tambo Exit!” he captioned the photo of the tarpaulin that he uploaded as a “story”.

Little did he know that his cousins and friends took his joke seriously; surprising him with a LED billboard ad displayed in front of Lipa Medix Medical Center in Lipa, Batangas. The LED billboard advertisement was displayed along the road for 30 minutes.


“It was initially a joke…which I thought they wouldn’t be able to pull off,” Gardiola told Interaksyon.

But while the whole surprise was planned because of his joke, the medical board passer hope that his story will inspire aspiring doctors to fulfill their dreams of becoming licensed physicians, too.
