Unmindful of the aftershocks of a strong tremor that jolted Mindanao provinces last October 29, a medical team in a hospital in Davao City carried on with their duty to treat a patient in the middle of the open field.
Filipinos’ famed “bayanihan” trait was in full display when a medical team opted to continue a medical operation for a patient even though it had to be conducted at the hospital grounds in Southern Philippines Medical Center.
In a now viral photo on Facebook, a pink and a white hospital shees can be seen spread out over the patient and the medical team to serve as a protective cloth while the procedure was being carried out.
Another health care personnel can be seen holding an umbrella across the hospital bed, which seemed to have been carried from the emergency room to the open field when the natural disturbance occurred.

“This is what a health care professional can do in the midst of a natural calamity. Tuloy lahat ng operations, intubations, and any procedures. Salute to all health care personnel of Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC)! May God bless all the doctors and nurses! The real angels on earth,” Lagura said.
The photo has already gained more than 29K likes and has been shared over 23K times.
