Ever since Gerald Anderson, 34, declared that Julia Barretto, 26, is the woman he wants to marry, rumors have been circulating on social media that the two might have secretly married, but Barretto is setting the record straight.
In the PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) interview with Julia at the Preview Ball held at the Manila Mariott Hotel on Friday, September 8, 2023, she denied that she and Gerald are married.
"No, walang ganun, walang ganun. Walang secret-secret! Mahirap magka-secret na ngayon sa mundong mabilis ang balita!" Julia said with a laugh.
The only thing Julia confirmed was that she and Gerald were happy, and she didn’t see any reason to rush their relationship.
"Sobrang excited... Bakit niyo ba kami minamadali?" the actress laughed again.
"We're just really happy where we are right in life. I mean, it's something to look forward to.
"Pero bakit niyo ba kami minamadali?"
MJ Felipe of ABS-CBN News clarified that fans have commented on their “very steady” relationship.
Julia explained, there is a right time to talk about marriage.
"But I feel, like, when that moment comes, it's... I don't know... I feel, like, it's something to be shared when two people are ready to share.
"I don't think it's something that should be asked constantly. I feel, like, when the time comes, it comes.
"I don't know why everybody is rushing us. And yeah, we're really happy where we are.
"I'm really happy where I am in my life. I don't know, you'll just find out one day, but it's not gonna come from an interview." -Esquire PH
