"I am doing this for my country" says Mr. Palengke while describing himself as 'Tinolang Manok' 😂😂👊🏽

Mr. Palengke and Senatorial candidate Mar Roxas already lost two major elections but is unfazed as he enters the campaign for the 2019 midterm polls.

In an interview with Karen Davila on ANC, Mr. Palengke said he's running again because he is "doing this for my country". 🙄

"I don't think that it's trauma. I think that carrying that burden of distilling the hopes, aspirations fears of a hundred million people is a serious act. Papasanin mo lahat itong pangarap at problema at kailangan may sagot ka sa problema ng lahat," the opposition candidate told ANC's Headstart Tuesday. 

"I was honored to have done that. But, I did not win. I offered tinolang manok, they chose kare-kareng baka," he added. 

Roxas said he was "at peace" with campaigning once more for a public position.

"I don't accept na hanggang third world na lang ang Pilipinas and that's why I'm running. I don't accept na hanggang kulelat na lang tayo that's why I'm running. I really believe that mas malayo pa ang mararating ng Pilipinas," he said.

"Parang after 2016 after everything I've been through. I'm doing this for my country," he added. 

Roxas, who banners Liberal Party and opposition group "Otso Diretso," placed second in the 2016 Presidential Elections, with around nine million votes next to President Rodrigo Duterte's 16 million.

Before that, he lost to Jejomar Binay in the 2016 Vice Presidential elections when he ran alongside former President Benigno Aquino III.

He was offered to steer the Transportation and Interior Local Government departments in 2011 and 2012, respectively, but drew fire from critics for allegedly mishandling issues such as the relief operations in the aftermath of super typhoon Yolanda and the maintenance of the MRT, among others.



Mar confident ghosts of past admin won't haunt Senate bid.

Asked how he was affected by losing in the 2016 election race, he emphasized the "aspiration and fears" of the Filipino population.

Roxas only had one thing to say when asked if he will gun for a higher position in the coming years.

"I've been there, done that," he said.
