Nearly ₱1 Billion of Tax Payer's Money Used on Pres. Cory Aquino Boulevard


The Cory Aquino Boulevard, the longest in the country, has officially opened and passes through the towns of Mercedes, Daet, Talisay, and Vinzons has opened to the public.

The boulevard was built under the Tourism Road Infrastructure Program of the Department of Tourism (DOT) and the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

The government spent ₱915 million for the project.


The 8.7-kilometer boulevard connecting four towns in Camarines Norte had been inaugurated, and those who'd like to go on a road trip will definitely enjoy the view.

Apart from seeing Bagasbas beach, a surfing favorite in Bicol region, those traveling on the boulevard will also get sights of Baybay beach in Mercedes, San Jose beach in Talisay, and Sabang beach in Vinzons.


None of the direct Aquino family members were present for the opening of their mother's boulevard but former Senator, Nancy Binay was also present in the inauguration.
“We are optimistic that with this longest boulevard... Now Open... It will boost economic activities in our province,” sabi ni Camarines Norte Gov. Edgar Tallado.

Roderinck Gutierrez, Camarines Norte District Engineer said the new boulevard will improve locals' livelihood and boost tourism.

Camarines Norte is home to several beaches and Calaguas Island, a popular tourist destination.

The boulevard was initiated during the previous administration.
