President Rodrigo Duterte has no one but himself to blame for the “massive corruption” in his administration.
Senator Risa Hontiveros said Duterte’s firing and hiring was to blame why corruption has flourished despite Duterte’s rhetoric against government officials stealing public funds.
“Based on numerous reports, as of 2018, more than a dozen officials who have been accused of corruption or abuse of public funds were reappointed, retained in another capacity, or promoted within the Duterte government,” said Hontiveros in a statement.
“No wonder there is massive corruption under President Duterte. The President tolerates it,” he added. She urged President Duterte to dump his fire-and-recycle policy on public officials accused of corruption.
