President Rodrigo Duterte said he is willing to go to jail for his alleged involvement in the extrajudicial killings under government’s war on drugs only if he would be provided a comfortable cell and conjugal benefits.
“I think a military training would be good for everybody. Kung hindi sige lang — sa shabu, mamaya namatay, krrrkkk. ‘Duterte: Extrajudicial killing’. Report to the ICC (International Criminal Court),” said Duterte during his State of the Nation Address.
The United Nations Human Rights Council earlier adopted the Iceland- backed resolution mandating a “comprehensive report” on the human rights situation occurring in the drug war in the Philippines.
“Ah okay. If you can provide me with a good comfortable cell, heated during winter time, I want to go — and an air-conditioned during hot weather. And a conjugal visits, unlimited, para we can understand each other,” he added.
In 2018, the Hague-based ICC started its preliminary examination into the allegations surrounding the country’s war on drugs.
