WATCH: President Duterte sings along with orchestra after delivering SONA

After blasting the corrupt, venting about red tape, and calling on Congress to pass his legislative priorities, President Rodrigo Duterte just had to break into song.

In true Filipino fashion, the President, known to have taken on the mic in intimate videoke sessions and even at one state dinner, sang along with the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra (PPO) after his fourth State of the Nation Address on Monday.

Duterte sang one of his favorite songs "Ikaw" and followed it up with the classic "Moon River" after his hour-and-a-half speech in an impromptu performance outside the Batasang Pambansa session hall.

It was the first time an orchestra was invited to perform for a President's SONA.

He thanked the orchestra after and asked them to have dinner with him sometime, eliciting cheers from the musicians.

"Fellowship, I miss. Sa totoo lang (The truth is), I'm a prisoner. That's why I'm tired of this. Hindi ka makagalaw, hindi makalabas, wala talaga (You cannot move, go outside, nothing)," he said.

The President added that music "brings your soul to beauty, brings you closer to God."

"Ang ganda. Bilib ako (It's beautiful. I'm impressed)," he said of the orchestra's performance. "I salute you."
