JUST IN | Hanna to intensify into Severe Tropical Storm, threatens quake-hit Batanes

Tropical storm Hanna is expected to intensify into a Severe Tropical Storm within 24 hours, according weather bureau PAGASA’s severe weather bulletin issued at 11:00 a.m. on Monday.

Hanna has intensified, bringing moderate to heavy monsoon rains over Palawan—including Calamian and Cuyo Islands—Mindoro Provinces, Romblon, and Western Visayas.

Hanna is carrying maximum sustained winds of 85 kilometers per hour (kph) and gustiness of up to 105 kph.

Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms are expected over Metro Manila, Central Luzon, CALABARZON, Bicol Region, and the rest of MIMAROPA and Visayas.

Residents, especially those in areas prone to flood and rain-induced landslides, are advised to take precautionary measures, coordinate with local disaster risk reduction and management offices and  monitor Thunderstorm Advisories and Heavy Rainfall Warnings to be issued by PAGASA Regional Services Divisions.

PAGASA advised fisherfolks and those with small seacrafts not to venture out in the western seaboards of Northern Luzon and Central Luzon, the seaboards of Southern Luzon and Visayas, and the eastern seaboard of Mindanao due to potentially rough sea condition.
