TESDA Capiz revives ‘Nutribun’

The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) - Capiz revives the production of nutritious bun (nutribun) during the launching and first leg of its Capiz Training Outreach Program (CapizTOP) in the municipality of Pontevedra, July 18.

Baking, that produced 1,000 pieces of nutritious buns (nutribun), was one of crash-courses conducted which was participated in by 50 Senior High School students.

“While it does not look exactly as how it appeared before, some modification of ingredients certainly adds up to its health value,” said Capiz TESDA director Engr. Abdel Bakhri Hajan.

Nutribun was a healthy snack advocated during the administration of President Marcos, distributed in public schools nationwide, to minimize the consumption of unhealthy junk foods by students for a healthy living.

The produced nutribun during the training were distributed to the students of the school and a nearby Daycare Center in the municipality.

Noting the importance of the training for the revival of for proper nutrition, Hajan said that the same training on baking will also be conducted in the rest of the municipalities and city of Capiz with the aim of distributing 1,000 pieces of nutribun as an output per town.
