Manila Mayor Isko Moreno recently released a photo of the so-called "drug queen". This person was identified as Guia Gomez Castro.
According to Mayor Isko Moreno and National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Chief Guillermo Eleazar, Castro won the Barangay Captain in the 2018 Barangay Elections but was not sworn in. Castro said the country was in a state of shock, according to authorities.
Castro also shared a picture of pro-government blogger and fiscal Atty. Darwin Cañete. Cañete's photo shows Castro attending the Liberal Party campaign sortie and still wearing yellow, the party's official color. In the comment section of Attorney Cañete's post is a picture of Castro wearing a Liberal Party vest.
According to former journalist Jay Sonza, Castro is a supporter of the yellow party.
Philipine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Chief Aaron Aquino recently revealed the background of the drug queen and how powerful it is. According to Aquino, the anti-drug operations of the PDEA and the PNP have been burned several times because of drug queen's assets.
“He has a police brother. He is in politics, so he is so powerful that he has connections with local government officials and the Philippine National Police (PNP)… He has other relatives involved in drugs. Who are politicians too,” said PDEA Chief Aquino.
In a separate statement, PDEA Chief Aaron Aquino said Castro allegedly imported its drugs from "ninja cops". The illegal drugs passed by the corrupt police to Castro range from confiscated drugs to police anti-drug operations.
Aquino also revealed that Castro is earning ₱54.4 million a month for selling drugs.
